I was born deaf, and my sensoineural hearing loss wasn’t detected in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. It wasn’t detected until my mother’s family doctor and my paediatrician both clocked me as deaf as fuck.
All we deafies want is captions on our screens and sign interpreters when we ask, and that’s not askin’ for too much, is it?
